Through our Swap Shop, Letham Climate Challenge are keeping clothing and other household items in circulation encouraging you to re-use by buying second hand. We are preventing emissions from incineration and transport to landfill, by keeping these items in circulation.
At the Swap Shop, the basic principal is that you make a donation, whether that be clothes, books, DVD’s, bric-a-brac, house-hold electricals, furniture or toys, and in return you receive a Swap Shop Voucher. Our Swap Shop voucher entitles you to 5 items out of our Swap Shop for free.
These items do not need to be like-for-like: you could donate books and swap for shoes, a dress and some toys. This is a fantastic resource available to everyone—this is not a referral service. Young families whose children are forever outgrowing their clothes can donate clothes that are too small and swap for clothes that fit, without spending a penny! Therefore a child’s top could serve multiple families instead of being destined to landfill.
If you don’t have anything to donate or swap, that’s OK! You can use our shop like any other and we simply ask for a minimum donation of 20p per item.
