Crisis Referrals

Letham Climate Challenge aim to support individuals and families across Perth and Kinross in housing crisis, having faced homelessness, fled domestic abuse, re-entering society from prison, or struggling to maintain current tenancy due to financial pressures.

We operate a home basics referral scheme for people in housing crisis whereby we aim to alleviate their distress and hardship by providing the basic household appliances and furniture required to improve their housing conditions.

Referrals can be placed by any organisation assisting the individual or family in need from schools, social workers, churches or charities. Items issued from a referral are free of charge with furniture items being delivered (within a 15 mile radius) at no cost by our volunteers.

To be eligible for a housing-crisis referral, please confirm that the person referred meets the following eligibility criteria:

• 1. They are unable to provide the items themselves
• 2. Publicly-funded options aren’t available, or are taking too long (Community Care Grant Reference will be requested)
• 3. Continuing without these items would have a detrimental impact

If you can confirm you have met this criteria, please complete the attached Referral Form and submit this by email via LethamClimateChallenge@gmail.com

If you would like to donate a new item for a home crisis referral such as a microwave, toaster or toiletries, donations can be dropped off on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 10am-3pm and Saturdays 10am-1pm. Please let the Shop Manager know that the donation is for referrals.
