Letham Climate Challenge is a not-for-profit sustainability charity based in North Perth. It is unique as it represents a community initiative tackling two pressing problems :
Living sustainably should be accessible to everyone, and so our organisation embeds affordability and equal opportunities across our services. We are pioneering to remove the stigma attached to second-hand, and encourage our community to make second-hand their first choice, with environmental factors in mind. We are championing zero waste for the benefit of the community as well as the environment.
Letham Climate Challenge have a clear track record of 16 years+ of being a responsive, respected and deeply appreciated community organisation offering unique activities and services. We currently run a number of projects including a Swap Shop, a second-hand Furniture Store, a Tool Library, Allotments, Community Gardening, Litter-picking, Housing Crisis Referrals and Volunteer opportunities.
We believe that change starts with people and our services encourage people to alter their everyday habits, bringing the consumer change that is needed to tackle the climate emergency. These are small behavioural changes which together make a huge impact from donating your items to us rather than putting them in the bin, to choosing second-hand furniture over new, and by growing your own vegetables over the convenient supermarket options with flight and food miles attached. All of these small changes reduce our collective carbon impact.
